In addition to yoga and Zen Shin meditation, the daylong Spring Mind-Body Seminar will be devoted to haiku—both the traditional poetry form and a new type developed by two art therapy students from the School of the Art Institue of Chicago.
Jason Gans is one the students who turned the Japanese poetry form into a visual art, creating poems with images and collage, says Susan Gilkey.
The students have used this visual haiku in their internships, including at the Cook County Jail.
The daylong seminar at MBT will begin with registration at 8:30 am and then gentle yoga. Some mats will be available or you can bring your own.
The day also will include Zen Shin meditation and a vegetarian Thai lunch and will conclude at 4:30 pm. Cost is $30 for non-members, $20 for members. To register, contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 312.943.7801.
