Threading the Narrative of (Re)location

Join us at MBT on May 13 for a community quilting circle and cross-cultural dialogue with artists Sarah Nishiura, Dorothy Straughter, and others. We will share stories about the Japanese and African American migrations to Chicago, learn about the legal, policy, and cultural landscape shaping these histories, and contribute to a joint quilt honoring both communities.

This event is sponsored by Project Prospera and is part of its Craft(ing) Culture(s) series: projects to further understanding of different cultures though craft-work. Its free to participate and no quilting or sewing experience required although we do ask you to register. All are welcome for this cross-cultural event.
