Sunday Family Service – Ohigan

MBT CALENDAR

Ohigan is a service held twice a year, at the spring and fall equinox. The equinox is when the weather is mild, not too hot and not too cold, and when nature is in harmony. Thus it is a time for reflection and meditation on this harmony in one’s own spiritual life.

Welcome to our weekly Family Service. We are a community of Jodo Shinshu Buddhists which is a Pure Land tradition in the Mahayana School of Buddhism. What this means is that we are concerned not only with our own lives but for the lives of others.

We hold services in-person in our Hondo (chapel) and we also stream our services live (and services can be accessed later in either video or podcast formats). If you plan to attend in person please observe our In-Person Attendance Policy or if you wish to attend virtually please contact the temple office for information.
