On March 12, 2020 the Midwest Buddhist Temple announced that it was suspending all public services and activities until further notice. As we update our status we will post the most current information (click for the latest information regarding MBT’s status). We hope everyone stays safe during these challenging time.
DHARMA TALKS ONLINE:
Our resident minister, Rev. Ron Miyamura, is committed to delivering weekly Dharma messages and while our Temple may be closed you can still access all of our Dharma Talk podcasts. Rev. Miyamura begins his podcast with Sutra chanting and then delivers his message. For your convenience you can access his talk below and each week we’ll add the latest podcast (of course you can always find all our podcasts on the Dharma Talks page).
LIVE STREAMING VIDEO: As of March 29 Rev. Miyamura has started streaming his Dharma Talks live on MBT’s Facebook page. If you wish to view Rev. Ron’s Dharma Talk “live” visit MBT’s Facebook page at 10:30 am on Sunday mornings or use the links below to view or listen to recorded talks.
PAST DHARMA TALKS:
Below you can find recent Services that we started posting at the beginning of the period of “Shelter-in-place”. If you’re interested in our archive to all Dharma Talk Podcasts just follow this link to our DHARMA TALKS archive page.
Another resource we have on our website are Chanting videos. In these videos Rev. Katsuya Kusunoki, of the Buddhist Church of Lodi, chants a series of traditional Sutras. Rev. Kusunoki has been certified as a “chanting instructor” by the Ritual Department of the Jodo Shinshu Hongwanji (international Jodo Shinshu headquarters).
