This page provides information for using the dedicated iPad to manage access to the front and back doors. Before starting here are a couple of important things to remember:
TROUBLESHOOTING
If the iPad stops receiving notifications from the doors it probably means it is no longer connected to our WiFi network – MBT-Chicago. Here are steps to troubleshoot:
-
Reset the WiFi on the iPad. Turn WiFi off then turn it back on (via settings). Then make sure the iPad reconnects to MBT-Chicago. Try the doorbell again.
-
If that doesn’t work stop and restart the MyQ app:
-
While on the MyQ app swipe up from the bottom but stop mid-screen – the app will appear in a smaller window
-
Hold the smaller window then swipe to the top of the ipad
-
Next restart the app by tapping the MyQ icon located in the dock on the bottom of the screen
-
If all else fails – reboot the iPad. While holding the iPad in portrait mode, the stop/restart button is on the top right edge – make sure it connects to MBT-Chicago
TUTORIAL
-
The doors are no longer controlled by our telephone system. There will be NO audible ring on any of the temple’s phones.
-
All interactions with visitors at either door is via the orange iPad (located on the donation desk or in the office) and the MyQ app. The MyQ app should always be active on the iPad but in case it is not look for the MyQ logo in the dock and tap it to start.
-
When a visitor walks up to our doors and taps the “MAIN DOORBELL” button – a Video Call will be made directly to the iPad inside the temple.
-
You will see an incoming call notification at the top of the screen. Answer the Video Call by tapping the green “Accept” check mark.
-
A video box will pop up where you can see and speak to the visitor (the visitor cannot see you, only speak to you).
-
To grant access tap the Grant Access button. The call will automatically end and the event will be logged with a video clip.
-
At the end of your day at MBT, it is always good practice to make sure the doors are securely locked.

The 2 short videos should help you get started.
